- An RTX GPU with hardware encoding — NVENC acceleration is what makes exports fast and lets DaVinci Resolve use GPU-accelerated color grading and effects.
- 32GB+ RAM — 16GB works for light 1080p edits, but 4K multi-track projects need headroom or you'll see stuttering during playback.
- NVMe storage — editing directly off an NVMe drive (not an HDD) removes a huge amount of lag when scrubbing high-bitrate footage.

DaVinci Resolve vs Premiere Pro — does it change the spec?
DaVinci Resolve leans more heavily on GPU acceleration (especially for color grading and Fusion effects), so if that's your main tool, prioritize the GPU tier over squeezing out extra CPU cores.
