What slows architecture software down
AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion and Enscape lean on different parts of a PC than a typical office machine. Revit and AutoCAD care most about single-core CPU speed for model navigation, while Lumion and Enscape are almost entirely GPU-bound for real-time rendering and walkthroughs. A PC built for "office work" with a weak GPU will handle drafting fine and then choke the moment you render a walkthrough.
The spec we build for architecture firms
- CPU: a high single-core-speed chip (Intel Core i7/i9 or AMD Ryzen 7/9) so Revit stays responsive on large, linked models
- GPU: RTX 4070-class or higher -- this is the single biggest upgrade for Lumion/Enscape render speed
