What actually matters for a trading PC
Most trading platforms (MetaTrader 4/5, TradingView, broker platforms) are not demanding on raw GPU or CPU power compared to gaming or rendering -- what matters is stability, uptime, and enough display output for multiple charts at once. A trading PC that crashes or freezes mid-session is a real financial risk in a way a gaming PC freezing simply isn't.
- CPU: a mid-range modern CPU (Ryzen 5/7 or Intel Core i5/i7) is more than enough for most trading platforms and multiple chart windows
- GPU: doesn't need to be gaming-tier, but does need enough display outputs for your monitor count
- RAM: 16-32GB so multiple platforms, browser tabs and charting tools can run simultaneously without slowdown
- Monitors: 2-4 screens is the common setup -- charts, news feed, order execution and analysis, each with dedicated screen space
- Power reliability: a good PSU and, ideally, a UPS/backup power plan given Uganda's power reliability -- losing power mid-trade is the scenario to build against
